Sarah Hall

"In Loving Memory" Canton – Sarah Lee Rice Hall, 85, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Homestead. She was born in Canton where she spent her formative years. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Hall, who died in 1986; parents, Fred H. and Bula Carver Rice; sisters, Joan Rice and Betty Rice Hayes. Sarah resided in K.C., Mo. Area from 1953 to 1993, where she retired from AT&T Information Technologies as a Business Services Supervisor. After retiring from AT&T, she was in nursing at Independence, Mo at Independence Regional Health Center. She was an active member of the Beaverdam United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative counsel, choir, and other offices. She was a past member of Canton Civitan Club, Senior Health Insurance Information Program Counselor for the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Haywood Regional Health Center Auxiliary, and a life time member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Rice Roberts and her husband, Bobby; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Melissa Lowe officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beaverdam Community Cemetery, 28 Garrett Drive, Canton, NC 28716, Patterson Cemetery Fund, c/o Pea Ridge Bank, Pea Ridge Arkansas, or to Haywood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Fund, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
