Lake Junaluska-Sarah Thompson McNamee, age 86, of 60 Liberty Road, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born in Highlands, North Carolina and was a former resident of Miami Springs, FL, and had resided in Haywood County since 1980. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Henry Percival Parr Thompson and Helen McKinney Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. McNamee, a son, Robert E. "Bobby" McNamee, and her brothers, Richard Byrd Thompson, Wendell Cleaveland, George Cleaveland, Henry Cleaveland and Magnus S. Thompson. She was a graduate of Queen's College of Charlotte, and was a former schoolteacher and airline stewardess for Delta Airlines. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Clyde. Sarah is survived by two sisters, Peggy McNeely of Mooresville and June T. Medlin and her husband Reverend Dr. W. T. Medlin, Jr. of Lake Junaluska and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Central United Methodist Church of Clyde. Reverend Randy Tingle, her brother-in-law, Reverend Dr. W. T. Medlin, Jr., and Reverend Dr. William T. Medlin, III will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will be at Dawn Memory Garden.
