Scott Angel

Waynesville, Gary Scott Angel, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2022.

A native of Florida, he was the son of Linda Clay Angel and the late Robin Glenn Angel.  Scott proudly served in the U. S. Navy and was awarded the Bronze Star for distinguishing himself for heroic or meritorious achievement or service.  A self-employed painting contractor, Scott liked being active and outdoors.  He enjoyed the rush of high energy sports like surfing, snowboarding, and skiing.  Most of all, Scott loved vacationing with family and making special memories.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Brittany Buchanan Angel; his three precious children, Olivia, Nicholas, and Justin Angel; mother, Linda Clay Angel; sister, Kim Angel; in-laws, Daniel and Debbie Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Tiffany Lawrence (Damon) and Danielle Shelton (Matt); special nephew, Cory Stevens; niece, Brittney Alvarez; and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Life Church of Waynesville with Reverend Paul Hensley officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

The care of Scott has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
