Scott Allen Inman, age 37, born on Valentine's Day in 1971, of Phillipsville Loop, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville. A native of Greenville, SC, he was a son of Dale Inman and Patty Inman Chappell. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Norfleet Inman and maternal grandfather, Freeman Watts. He was associated with Sardis United Methodist Church. Scott enjoyed fishing with his dad and son and watching any and all Tarheel sports, as well as NASCAR, with his favorite driver being Carl Edwards. There will always be a special place in his heart for his son, Michael, who sustained him the last few months of his life. He is survived by his mother, Patty Chappell and her husband, Chris, of Asheville; father, Dale Inman and his wife, Nancy, of Canton; one son, Michael, of Dana, NC; maternal grandmother, Edna Norris, of Greenville, SC; a sister, Tina Inman of Canton; a brother, Clarence Inman and his wife, Lori, of Leicester; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend John Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy, Johnny, Jerry, and Allan Koch, Ronnie and Marty Putnam.
