Selma Moore

December 14, 1916 — February 18, 2005

Waynesville-Selma Roberson Moore, age 88, formerly of Brown Avenue, died Friday, February 18, 2005 at Lifecare Center of Guinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was a native and resident of Haywood County most of her life and was the daughter of the late E. G. and Hattie Willis Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Arcimus Moore, who died in 1969; four brothers, Hubert, Charlie, Ernest, and Carroll Roberson. She was a retired employee of American Enka Corporation with 15 years service. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church and enjoyed her homemaking and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a breast and colon cancer survivor and was a long time Hazelwood precinct worker. She is survived by one son, Carroll Herbert Moore and his wife, LauraLee, of Lilburn, GA; three grandchildren, Laura Anne Turner and her husband, Chris, of Clyde, Dana Noele Moore of Atlanta, and Lauren Perkins and her husband, Chris, of Alpharetta, GA; and four great grandchildren, Brooke and Brent Turner, and Ian and Isabella Perkins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Jerry Ensley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hazelwood Baptist Church, 265 Hazelwood Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786.
