Sharon Grant

February 16, 1941 — September 27, 2004

Maggie Valley-Sharon F. Grant, age 63, of Black Camp Gap Road, died Monday, September 27, 2004 at Asheville Specialty Hospital in Asheville. A native of Paris Island, SC, she was the daughter of the late Glendell and Louise Fitzgerald. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and worked in psychological hospitals and with Hospice. She was traditional Native American dancer, craftsperson, and spiritualist and was a descendant of Osage and Cherokee nations. She was a member of Oblate in the Order of the Sisters of the Blessed Cross Christian Catholic Church Anglican Communion. She is survived by her husband of six years, Reverend John C. Grant; a son, Glen F. Law and his companion, Elizabeth S. Pecoraro, of Bowden, GA; two sisters, Rose Mary and Katherine; a brother, Rusty Meeks; and many more sons, daughters, and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend John C. Grant and Pastor David Williams officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Oglala Lakoga College, 3-Mile Creek, Box 490, Kyle, SD 57752.
