Canton, Sharon Queen Rathbone, age 47 went to heaven to be with her baby sister on Saturday, January 28, 2012. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Gerald Glenn and Betty Knight Queen of Canton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Marie Queen. She was employed by Goosmann, Rose, Colvard and Cramer, PA, as a paralegal. She was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. Sharon had a tremendous heart for the Lord. Sharon taught us how to loveunconditionally, to believe and be strong in the face of adversity.. She was the rock of our family, and through that, she will always be our hero. Sharon enjoyed crafts and antiquing, but her heart was with her family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 7 years, Ken Rathbone; one daughter, Kali Putnam of Waynesville; one son, Tyler Putnam of Canton; mother-in-law and father, Paul Rathbone and his wife Margaret; maternal grandfather, Roy Sorrells of Canton; grandmother-in-law, Louise Nelson of Waynesville; two sisters, Laura Williams and her husband Alan of Waynesville; Katie Fisher and her husband Brian of Canton; two sisters-in-law, Mary Margaret Hyde and her husband Eddie of Canton; Laura Presnell and her husband Shannon of Waynesville; one niece, Savannah Smith of Waynesville; three nephews, Brenton Fisher and Dawson and Dakota Hyde, all of Canton; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. Dr. Charles W.(Chuck)Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in The Venue at the church. Memorials may be made to "A Place To Talk", 422 4th Street NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
