Sheila Roberson

Canton-Sheila Whitaker Roberson, age 54, of Sharptown Road, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, she was a daughter of Kenneth C. and Katherine Thomason Whitaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roberson, who died in 2008, and also by her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was employed with Canton Health Care, and No Boundaries. Sheila enjoyed volunteering with her husband, Michael, before his death for the Center Pigeon Fire Department. She was a member of West Canton Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Rickey Whitaker of Camden, Delaware and Kenneth Whitaker and his wife, Susan, of Toccoa, Georgia; two nieces, Katy and Kenley Whitaker; two nephews, Jesse and Gregory Whitaker; special aunt, Wanda, as well as other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at West Canton Baptist Church with the Reverend George Holley officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
