Shelbert Maynard

August 28, 1920 — June 5, 2005

Shelbert Kester "Sam" Maynard, age 84, died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Pikeville, KY, but had lived in Haywood County since 1975, he was the son of the late Grundy and Martha Smith Maynard. Mr. Maynard was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, later retiring as owner/operator of Waynesville Precision Paint. He was a member of the VFW Post 5202 in Waynesville and attended Mt. View Church of God. He had a great love for his All-American Beagle, Katie. Surviving are a brother, Craft Maynard and his wife, Verlie, of Franklin, Ky: Santiago Lopez of Clyde and several nieces and nephews, and a great number of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday , June 7, 2005 at Mt. View Church of God . The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetary
