Shirley Hill

Waynesville, Shirley Ann Hill, age 78, of Beverly Lane passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her residence. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late William Elsie and Ethel Mae Jones Ensley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edwin Hill and brothers and sisters, William Else Ensley, Jr., Margie Deweese, Richard and Jerry Ensley, Mildred Hill and Barbara Ensley. Shirley served in the foster grandparent program at Lake Junaluska, loved to cook and spending time with children and her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. She is survived by a daughter, Beth Hill Goodson, and her husband, Ray of Waynesville; four sons, Robert Hill and his wife, Pam, of Waynesville; Gary Dean Hill and his wife, Debbie, of Clyde, David and Danny Hill both of Waynesville; four sisters, Judy Whitley of Fort Payne, Alabama, Peggy Sheehan, Linda Taylor and Betty Cogdill all of Waynesville; a brother, H.P. Ensley and his wife, Ann, of Waynesville; a grandson, Wesley Hill and his wife, Sara; granddaughters, Brooklyn Hill, Bailey Hill, Kristin Hill Philips and Chelsie Hill both of Sylva, Morgan Goodson, and Lindsey Goodson both of Waynesville and three great-grandchildren, Lucy and Simon Hill of Waynesville and Bronx Hill of Clyde. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Homestead 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721.
