Shirley Rogers

"1953 – 2016" Asheville – Shirley Rogers, 63, was called to her eternal home in heaven, on Monday, October 17, 2016 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Vernie David and Carrie Edith Pack Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cleveland Rogers, who died in 2002 and a brother, James Lewis Wright. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Rogers Snelson (Mark); a son, Troy Lee Roy Rogers (Phyllis), all of Candler; two sisters, Mary Ellen Quimby (Merle) and Sandra Anderson (Jerry), all of Fairview; one brother, Vernie David Wright, Jr. (Jeanette) of Fairview; two grandchildren, Carrie Cooper (Keith), and Skylar Snelson, all of Candler, one great-grandchild, Allan Rogers of Candler; special uncle, Paul Wright (Pat) of Oakley; and brother-in-law, Troy Rogers of Welden. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
