Stanley Potter

April 27, 1951 — October 29, 2006

Candler- Stanley Michael Potter- age 55 of Lower Edgewood community died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Haywood County and a son of the late Hollie and Hilda Bonham Potter. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Hollie, Jr. and one sister Hilda Ruth. Mike had a love for trout fishing and a fondness for hippos. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of North Canton Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Tristan Potter, of Fairview and Nathan Potter, of Biltmore; three sisters, Donna Potter and Karen Jones both of Clyde, and Rita Matthis and her husband, Wayne, of Waynesville; two brothers, Virgil Potter, of Statesville, and Alan Potter and his wife, Margaret, of Boone; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at North Canton Cemetery with Reverend Dewayne Rathbone officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
