Stella Green

Waynesville, Stella Sinclair Green, age 91, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2011 at Haywood Lodge and Retirement Center. A native of Underhill, Vermont, she was a former resident of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and had resided in Haywood County since 1983. She was the daughter of the late Paul Foster and Beulah Frances Hayford Sinclair and was also preceded in death by her husband, William G. "Bill" Green, who died in 1985, and seven brothers and sisters. She was a graduate of Trenton State Teachers College in Trenton, New Jersey and retired from the New Berlin School District in New Berlin, Wisconsin where she taught Kindergarten for 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and was active with Haywood Christian Ministries. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Koakane Green of Kailua Kona, Hawaii and Scott Sinclair Green of Buffalo, Wyoming; one daughter, Alison Green Fay and her husband, James, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Wilson Strickhausen officiating.
