Stella Sexton

Stella Harwood Sexton, age 90 of 34 Maple Crescent went to be with her Lord, Monday, August 25, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late Patrick Lee and Pearl Randolph Harwood. She was the wife of the late Ervin Sexton who died 1985. She was a Sunday school teacher for both adults and children for many years and was a member of "Woman Power" in the 1970's to reestablish prayer and bible readings in schools. She was loved by all her family and was a devoted Christian who taught her family to love and serve God as she did.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Herron of Forest City, Rebecca Srijayanta of Asheville, one son, Edward E. Sexton of Asheville, one sister, Leola Hall of Asheville, one brother, Ray Harwood of Asheville, 2 grandchildren; Michael and Michelle Srijayanta and one great-grandson; Collin Srijayanta.

Private services will be held.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
