Stella West

Candler, Stella Anders West, age 85, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Lum Culbert and Lona Rachel Kuykendall Anders.  In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lang West, who died in 2006, and seven siblings.

Stella is survived by three daughters, Brenda McClure and her husband, Cecil, of Mars Hill, Karen Thomas and her husband, Lee, of Asheville, and Ellen Hensley of Candler; two sons, Leonard West and Kenneth West, both of Candler; two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Myrtle Nichols, both of Waynesville; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great, great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, and will be officiated by Reverend Austin Watts.
