Stephen Gaddis

Waynesville, Stephen Randall Gaddis, age 50, of Dolan Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2010. Stephen was born on October 9, 1959 and was the son of Catherine Grasty Gaddis and the late James Joseph Gaddis. He was a member of Longs Chapel United Methodist Church and was very active in congregational care. Stephen enjoyed watching Sidney in band competitions and piano performances. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Brenda Allison Gaddis; one son, Sidney Blake Gaddis; one sister, Cynthia Gaddis Beine and her husband, Todd, of Saratoga, California; nieces and nephews, Madison, Jake and Hannah Beine, Austin Rathbone and his wife, Mia, Brian Rathbone, and Alison Mears. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Long�s Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles W. �Chuck� Wilson, III and Reverend Leyton Alan Mears officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Grasty, Jr., Terry Grasty, Austin and Brian Rathbone, Mike Ferguson, and Mark Shepard. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick and Michael Grasty, Alvin Rathbone, Gary Carr, Steve Paradis, Rusty, James Lee, and David Turner, Bryan Ray, Jeff Mears Todd Beine and Chris Maynor. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Longs Chapel United Methodist Church Praise and Worship Team or Congregational Care, P.O. Box 459, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
