Stephen Worley

Stephen Ray "Moose" Worley, age 43, died on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Blanche Southerland Worley Grimsley of Asheville and the late Johnny H. Worley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his estranged wife, Wileena Bell Worley of Asheville; partner, Michelle Ledford of Candler; two daughters, Madalin Jane and Makenzie Blanche Worley both of Waynesville; two step-sons, James Colton Bell of Asheville, and Justin Leon Cates of Waynesville; four sisters, Geraldine "Deane" Burbank of Candler, Vicki Reese of Asheville, Debra "Debbie" Whiteside, of West Columbia, South Carolina, and Janie Cooper of Yorktown, Virginia; one half-sister, Amanda Leopard of Mars Hill, North Carolina; and four brothers, Jerry E. Worley of Candler, Jimmy Rogers of Asheville, Bobby Southerland of Maggie Valley, and Frank Southerland of Waynesville; special nephews and brothers at heart, James David Burbank and Christopher Sheeds; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him greatly. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
