Waynesville-Steve Pilkington, age 52, of Red Bank Road, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007. A native of Graham County, he lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Paul Pilkington. He was a professional truck driver and was employed by Shelton Oil Company. Steve took his truckdriving career very seriously and enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his little man, "Boomer." He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lisa Greer Pilkington; two daughters, Paula Shaw and her husband, Kenny, of Waynesville and Samantha Arrington, of the home; four sons, Jon Pilkington and his wife, Tina, of Waynesville, Scott Pilkington, of Las Vegas, NV, Wesley Frizzell, of Waynesville, and Lukus "Boomer" Pilkington, of the home; one brother, Carl Pilkington; and four surving grandchildren with another one expected, Ashley Romo, Ronnie "Bubba" Goins, Joshua Pilkington, and Stephanie Shaw. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Royal officiating. Burial will follow in Pilkington Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to services. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
