Steven Burns

Hot Springs, Steven Edward "Ed" Burns, age 80, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Amanda Allison Burns. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and retired from the US Forest Service. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Burns; two sons, Steve Burns and his wife, SueAnn, of Bostic and George Burns and his wife, Nancy, of Hot Springs; one daughter, Maxine Ward and her husband, Ricky, of Horse Shoe; two sisters, Ruth Lowe of Etowah and Gladys Haggins of Hot Springs; two brothers, Bill Burns of Hot Springs and Curtis Burns of Arcadia, Florida; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
