Susan Gates

Waynesville, Susan D. Gates, age 55, of Maple Knoll Circle, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Shirley Shuler Gates and the late Charles Gates. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Daisey Gregory and son, Kevin Banks. Suzi loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting, cooking, knitting, sewing and riding four wheelers. In addition to her mother, Suzi is survived by her fiancé, Dallas "Pug" Parker; two daughters, Ann Surrett (Greg) and Aleisha Gates, all of Waynesville; a son, Steven Banks (Andrea) of South Carolina; three sisters, Sheila Andrews of Georgia, Lynn Phillips of Waynesville and Ann Gates of Tennessee; and ten grandchildren, Zack, Jeffery, Christyonna, Lanndan, Gavin, Briella, Honor, Libby, Austin and Xander. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Vic Reasoner officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
