Susan Reece

Susan Marie Ramsey Reece, 59, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Mission Hospitals - St. Joseph Campus. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Jerome Woodard and Virginia Lee Green Ramsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria West, and an infant brother, Steven Ramsey. Susan's door was always open to friends and family. She enjoyed working in the flowers and was an avid reader. Her most precious treasures were her 11 grandchildren and her dog, Sasha. She is survived by one son, Josh Reece of Leicester; one daughter, Kimberly Reece of Canton; two sisters, Patricia Meadows and her husband, Jack, of Asheville, and Janet Watts and her husband, Randy, of Mars Hill; three brothers, Gary Ramsey and his wife Roselyn, of Houston, TX, Keith Ramsey and his wife, Karen, of Arden, and Ronald Ramsey of Candler; a brother-in-law, Frank West; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bryan Rhodarmer officiating and David West delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be David, Nathan, and Frank West, Randall Presnell, Randy Watts, and Jack Meadows. Honorary pallbearer will be Dan Jones.
