Susan Rogers

Clyde, Susan Elaine Jacobs Rogers, age 57, of Redfield Drive, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at The Homestead. A native of Macon County, she was a 1973 graduate of Franklin High School followed by two years of business school. In 1978, she received her insurance license. She and her husband, Floyd T. Rogers, co-founded and co-owned Haywood Insurance Services which she remained active in until the time of her death. Susan was a charter member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. Her church was very important to her, and she loved participating in the music and praise team. She also was responsible for the interior design of her church and was always organizing and tending to details of the church. She was a former member and past president of the Waynesville Altrusa Club, Susan loved to travel and especially enjoyed Charleston as a destination. She also cherished spending time and activities with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 20 years, Susan is survived by her parents, Radford and Kate Anderson Jacobs, of Franklin. She is also survived by four children and their families, Todd Bennett and his wife, Sharon, and their daughter, Macie, of Franklin; Rob Rogers and his wife, Samantha, and their children, Madison and Morgan, of Greer, South Carolina; Kimber Rogers Nelson, and her husband, Bryce, and their children, Jacob and Brysen, of Williamston, South Carolina; and Tommy Rogers and his wife, Kelley, and their children, Hunter, Maggie, and Sarah Kate, of Piedmont, South Carolina; two brothers, Larry and Scotty Jacobs, both of Franklin; and one sister-in-law, Mary Singleton, and her husband, Dean, of Clyde. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Reverend Brian Lawrence and Reverend Bob Dyer officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the "For Such A Time As This" Sunday-School Class. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
