Susie Franklin

February 13, 1919 — September 13, 2005

Waynesville-Susie Jane Palmer Franklin of 52 Twin Brook Drive, died Tuesday September 13, 2005 at the Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William and Clementine Jolly Palmer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. Franklin and one son, David Franklin; two brothers, Frank and Wade Palmer; four sisters, Edith Messer, Jessie, Francis, and Thelma Price. She was devoted to her family; she loved her children, grandchildren and working with beautiful flowers. She is survived by four daughters, Devoice Fie of Waynesville, Linda Moody and her husband, Jess Moody Jr. of Waynesville, Carolyn Franklin and her husband Tommy of Enka, and Jean Cooper of Lincolnton, NC; two sons, Bruce Franklin of Lincolnton, NC and Billy Franklin of Waynesville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren ; 9 great-great-grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Wesley and Shane Moody, Chuck, Orrin, Cody, and Brian Franklin, Terry and Jerry Wyatt and Steve Fie.
