Suzanne Cunningham

Waynesville, Suzanne Ruth Berg "Sue" Cunningham, 58, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Cambridge, England, she was the daughter of Hazel Foster Berg and the late Bert K. Berg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Cunningham, who died in 2009. Sue received her nursing degree at Sierra Nursing College in Auburn California and was employed at Haywood Regional Medical Center for twelve years, retiring in 1999. Sue loved to interact with her neighbors and enjoyed crocheting, even crocheting prize winning pieces. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, Sue is survived by two aunts, Janice Lee of Waynesville and Mickey Johnson and her husband, Les, of Santa Maria, California and cousins, Michael Lee and family of Colorado, Nick Kellas and family of Waynesville and Heidi LaGache of Susanville, California. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 20, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
