Sylvia Truitt

"Christian Lady" Waynesville, Sylvia June Truitt, 86, passed away on Friday, June 02, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native of Swain County, she had resided in Haywood County since 1955. She was the daughter of the late William E. and Millie Gasaway Truitt and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Lee and Troy Thomas Truitt. Sylvia retired from Wellco with 42 years of service and was a sweet Christian lady and loved the Lord Jesus. Sylvia is survived by her cousins, Carol Truitt Lloyd (John), Gary Ray Truitt (Marilyn) and many others. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Memorials may be made to Autumn Care Nursing Home Activities Fund, P.O. Box 330, Waynesville, NC 28786.
