Waynesville-Taft Lee Noland, age 29, died on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Greenville, NC. A native of Haywood County, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby Rogers. Taft was a 1996 graduate of Tuscola High School where he was a member of the ski team. He was attending East Carolina University, where he would have graduated on May 5th with a degree in Hospitality Management. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle and was a member of Crabtree United Methodist Church. He is survived by his parents, Denise Rogers Stamey and David of Clyde; a maternal grandmother, Ethel Ferguson Rogers, of Waynesville; one step-sister, Kristi Hannah and her husband, James, and their son, Jared, of Fort Mill, SC; one step-brother, Dennis Stamey, of Atlanta, GA; and great aunt and uncle, Wendell and Linda Ferguson, of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Beverly Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service and at other times, the family will be at 17 West Farley Street, Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Thompson, Mike Swanger, Mitchell Gates, James Hannah, Scott Smith and Bobby Joe Sutton. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O.
