Waynesville-Taliaferro Holmes Taylor, age 92, formerly of Underwood Cove, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Mission St. Joseph Health Care System. A native of Salisbury, NC, he had lived in Haywood County since 1972. He was the son of the late Ernest T. and Rosa Elizabeth Holmes Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Eloise Padrick Taylor who died in 1997. He was employed at the Salisbury Newspaper in Advertising Sales and was manager of Padrick Chevrolet in Ft. Pierce, Florida before retiring to Haywood County in 1972. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. He is survived by three sons, Harold Haskew and his wife, Suzanne, of Milford, Michigan, W. Timothy Haskew and his wife, Barbara, of Cleveland, Georgia, and T. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Louisville, Colorado; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
