Tanya Gavin Lytle

Tanya Louise Gavin Lytle, 64, of Waynesville, NC, was called home to Heaven from her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, surrounded by her family and the compassionate care of Hospice.

A native of Point Isabel, IN, Tanya was the daughter of Janet (Susie) Gavin and the late Richard Gavin.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Gavin. 

Tanya is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Bill Lytle; her mother, Janet (Susie) Gavin; two sisters, Lynn Gavin and Pam Gavin; and her nieces, Loreal Louise Gavin and Caitlin Brunson, who will forever cherish their aunt’s memory. 

Tanya had a creative spirit.  That spirit later thrived during an impressive 33 year career as a loyal and dedicated interior designer at Shipley’s Ethan Allen in Asheville, NC.  Tanya loved her job and her fellow employees more than anything in the world.  Her most cherished moments were helping her clients who became friends as she brought their design dreams to reality.  Tanya would often say, “It’s not really a job if you love what you do”, and she truly loved her job. 

Tanya’s love for music and singing was matched only by her love of animals, especially cats.  Her heart was as kind as her voice was beautiful, bringing light and warmth to ever room, both in song and in spirit. 

A memorial service in honor of Tanya will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the funeral home.  Tanya’s family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date in Indiana.
