TAYLOR F. SUTTON
Waynesville-Taylor F. Sutton, age 84, of 62 Blink Bonny Drive, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Richwood, West Virginia, he had lived most of his life in Haywood
County. He was the son of the late Jake and Adeline White Sutton and was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Covington Clark and two brothers, Fred and Hughes White. He was a retired surveyor technician with the Blue Ridge Parkway, U.S. Department of Interior, with 22 years service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart, having served in the 3rd Armored Division which landed in Normandy. He was a member of Mt. Sterling Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Hicks Sutton; one daughter, Juanita Hendricks, of Greenville, SC; a son Steven Sutton, and his wife, Roddy Ray Sutton, of Lake Junaluska; two granddaughters, Britt Stribling and Leah Hendricks; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Presnell and Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
