Ted Mcclure

August 11, 1932 — November 2, 2010

Ted Herbert McClure, age 78, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Wiley John and Bonnie Brown McClure. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Katy McClure. He retired from Champion International as a foreman on No. 11 Recovery Boiler with more than 40 years of service. Ted was a collector, a gardener, and he enjoyed hunting with his sons. He is survived by five sons, Eddy McClure and his wife, Janice, of Hendersonville, Gary McClure and his wife, Candi, of Pikeville, NC, Teddy McClure and his wife, Robin, of Clyde, Danny McClure and his wife, Linda, of Monroe MI, and Keith McClure and his wife, Pam, of Toledo, OH; five daughters, Shelia McClure of Asheville, Lynn Howell and her husband, John, of Mt. Olive, NC, Rhonda Odom of Toledo, OH, Greta DeCant of MI, and Kim McClure of Toledo, OH; a brother, Wade McClure and his wife, Charlotte, of Concord, CA; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 107 Weaver Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
