Ted L. Reeves 87, died Monday, April 17, 2017. Born in 1929, he was the son of the late Vera Reeves and Paul Ferguson of the Cove Creek Community of Haywood County. He was a member of the Cove Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Pleasant Balsam Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Bryson Reeves, with whom he shared more than 61 years of marriage and 52 years of ministry in various Baptist churches of both Haywood and Jackson Counties.; by his sister, Margie Ann Reeves; and his great-grandson, Patrick Crumpler. For nearly the past 60 years he has made his home in the Iron Duff Community. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he was a former employee of Dayco, a farmer, brick-block mason, carpenter, and all around handyman. He enjoyed being with his family, friends, and neighbors; keeping up with the Los Angles Dodgers and the UNC-CH Tar Heels; sharing good stories; and spending a day in quest of some fish. He is survived by his daughter, Teddie McClure, and husband, Mike; two sons, Larry Reeves and Randy Reeves. Also surviving are grandchildren and their families, Duane Norman and wife Amy, their daughters Sarah and Rachel; Christi Crumpler and husband Neal, their daughter Allyson, and son, Riley; Rebecca Dean and husband Leejohn; Sara Rosenkrans and husband Jeremey, their son, Asher; Tim Reeves and wife Beth, with son Lawson, and daughter, Zadie; and Tyler and Liam Reeves. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the funeral service. The committal will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery of the Iron Duff Community of Waynesville. Officiating at the funeral will be Reverend Tim Reeves, Duane Norman, and Reverend Larry Reeves. The committal service will be conduct by Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Jerry Nelson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to Fruitland Baptist College, 1455 Gilliam Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Until the time for the services, the family will be at the home of Teddie and Mike McClure, 290 Fernwood Road, Clyde, NC. Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville oversees the arrangements.
