Ted Everett Spidle, age 69, of John's Creek Road, passed away at his residence. A native of Haywood County, Ted was the son of Phyllis Burnette Rutherford and was also preceded in death by brothers, Gary Burnette and Paul Rutherford; a sister, Teresa Burnette; foster parents, Alvin and Ollie Mae Ford; and a granddaughter, Emily Kate Spidle. He was retired after being self-employed as owner/operator of Spidle Software Services. Ted was an avid outdoorsman and loved his motorcycle. He was a soldier and warrior who fought two tours for his country in Vietnam. The pride and joy of his life was and will forever be his four beautiful grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, Ted Spidle, Jr., and his wife, Amy, of Gibsonville, North Carolina and Sean Spidle of Waynesville; a daughter, Jean Marie Skinner of Texas; two sisters, Phyllis Rutherford Schneider Salser and Sherry Rutherford Bell, both of Texas; two brothers, Martin Rutherford of Asheville and Edward Rutherford of Texas; and three grandchildren, Derek and Jenna Spidle and Jenna Skinner. Family and friends will meet at Jukebox Junction, 6306 Pigeon Road, Canton, NC at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 9, 2014 to drive over Blue Ridge Parkway to memorialize Ted. Military Rites will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Green Hill Cemetery.
