Canton – Terrance “Terry” Reynolds Sellers, 83, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Mission Hospital.
Terry was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late William Henry “Willie” and Letha Henson Sellers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Jack, Robert, and Steve Sellers. Terry was a 1957 graduate of Bethel High School and retired from Bi-Lo with 20 years in management. As a newspaper carrier for Asheville Citizen and The Mountaineer, he was awarded 2005 Carrier of the Year and was President of the YMCA Y’s men and Canton Little League. Terry loved to coach baseball, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of First United Methodist Church of Canton.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Hall Sellers; two daughters, Lisa Sellers of Canton and Laura Sanford (Joe) of Waynesville; a sister, Marlene Drake of Canton; a brother, James Sellers of Brevard; brother-in-law, Mike Hall (Becky) of Alabama; two grandsons, Jackson Sanford (Kendra) and Chris Sanford; two great-grandsons, Jace and Julian Sanford; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Gordon Pike officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s own favorite charity.
