Terrell Grogan

December 29, 1921 — February 27, 2007

Cruso - Terrell Vance Grogan, age 85, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Smoky Mountain Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native and life-long resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Isaac and Sarah Watts Grogan. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. He was employed by Ecusta as a machine operator for 34 years and he was a barber on Park Street in Canton for a number of years. Vance was a member of East Fork Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of the Sonoma Lodge #472 and Oasis Temple Shriners and loved baseball, fishing and especially digging for ginseng. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ethel Fox Grogan; one son, Johnny Grogan and his wife, Carol, of Clyde; two grandchildren, Heather Baginski and Miranda Griffin and two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Greg Cullen and Reverend Gene King officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
