Terry Lynn Dunn

Terry Lynn Dunn, born on January 5, 1951, in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, departed this world on December 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy enriched with love, creativity, and cherished moments. As a devoted mother, sister, and aunt, Terry became a radiant star in the lives of her family, illuminating their paths with her unwavering support and kindness.

For over three decades, Terry devoted her career to serving as a receptionist and audiology technician for Asheville Head Neck and Ear and Asheville Audiology. Her warmth and dedication in her professional roles mirrored the love she extended to her family at home. Known for her inviting spirit, she created an environment where everyone felt valued and cared for.

Terry’s personality was a tapestry woven with threads of family devotion, creativity, and musical passion. She orchestrated joyful gatherings by the beach, creating sun-drenched memories framed by laughter and love. She nurtured her children, taking them to church since they were just 19 days old, a testament to her deep-rooted love and commitment. She surprised them with tickets to see the Eagles, in Death Valley, a reflection of her thoughtfulness and desire to gift them experiences that would resonate in their hearts forever.

A lady of many talents, she wielded her needle with grace, crocheting, sewing, and crafting beautiful baby blankets that her loved ones now treasure dearly. Her culinary delights, from hearty spaghetti and stuffed peppers to the fluffiest butter biscuits, were legendary in her close-knit circle. Every dish was not just food; it was a love letter written with ingredients and served at the table filled with warmth and acceptance.

Her passion for music found resonance in the timeless sounds of Pink Floyd, The Eagles, and her favorite band, Queen- their melodies echoing in her heart as she danced through life, celebrating each note as if it were a cherished moment.

Terry was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard and June Clemmons; loving husband of 54 years, Ted Dunn; cherished sisters, Laura Fowler and Dixie Ingle, who undoubtedly now welcome her with open arms.

She is celebrated and survived by her daughter, Wendy Dunn of Sylva, and her son, Ricky Dunn (Christy) of Leicester. Terry also leaves behind a vibrant circle of nieces and nephews-Angela McQueen (Scott), Tim Ingle (Cyndi), Gary Ingle (Debbie), Paul Ramsey (Penny), Buffy Hyatt, and Joe Dunn—who carry forward her spirit with each cherished memory.
