Terry Hall

Canton – Terry Cathey Hall, age 97, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Grady and Emma Louise Smathers Cathey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zane Grey Hall; a granddaughter, Anne Karen Walsh, one brother, Charles Burton Cathey; and one sister, Rena Cathey. Terry was a longtime active member of Canton First Baptist Church. She was an avid bridge player, golfer, and flower gardener. Terry was also very creative and enjoyed traveling with her friends. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Walsh and her husband, Harold, and Karen Lynne Hall, all of Canton; one brother, James W. Cathey and his wife, Aileen, of Waynesville; one grandson, Jack Hall Walsh and his wife, Michele, of Decatur, Georgia; and two great-granddaughters, Stella and Adaline Walsh. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons officiating.
