Teruyo Yoshida Goodson

Canton – Teruyo Yoshida Goodson, 97, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 1, 2024 at Silver Bluff Village. She was born on January 24, 1927 to Kyozo Yoshida and Nao Tamura in Japan.

Teruyo was a proud American citizen since 1988. She loved to cook and feed people. It was her way of showing her generosity and compassion to everyone she loved. She was also an avid fisher and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in those she loved most.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Hill of Missouri; her son, JD Goodson (Tammy) of Canton; four grandchildren, Ashely, Stephanie, Jonathon and Kirsten; and seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hayden, June, Zoë, Olivia, Edie and Bodhi.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.

Funeral services to honor Teruyo will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery.
