Thelma Ball Roberts, 94, of Asheville passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the WNC Baptist Home. She was born in Madison County to the late Mary Marler Ball and Robert Ball. She was also preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Chester in 1984, brothers, Leonard, Joe, Kimsey and Grady Ball and a sister, Sally Naves.
Mrs. Roberts was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She resided in Buncombe County for her entire adult life and after her husband's passing she provided home care to the elders in her community.
Survivors include her daughters, June Foster and Joy Taylor both of Asheville, a son, Jack Roberts of Asheville, brother, Weldon Ball of Candler, sister, Gladys Hunter of Asheville, four grandchildren, Kelly and David Foster, Scott Taylor and Charlotte Lyda, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11AM on Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. James Lamb officiating.
