Thelma Worley

Thelma Scott Worley, age 88, of the Beaverdam community, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2006, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Wilson Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, George K. Worley who died in 1979; a grandson, Bill Worley , Jr.; a great grandson, Michael Early; three brothers, Mark, Bill and Gomer Scott; and four sisters, Bonnie Hall, Dorothy Cody, Jeannie Parham and Artie Worley. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church and she retired from American Silk Label Company with 17 years of service. Thelma loved her church, singing and especially her family. She is survived by three sons, Donald Worley and his wife, Eleanor, Lewis Worley and his wife, Dorothy, both of Canton, and Bill Worley and his wife, Audrey, of Clyde; a sister, Bernice Scott, of Canton; two brothers, Clay Scott and Calvin Scott, both of Canton; 10 grandchildren, Debbie Rose and her husband, Ricky, Dawn Hyatt and her husband, Jeff, Martha Early and her husband, Rick, Eric Worley, Kathy Menner and her husband, Roger, Carla Worley, Mark Worley and his wife, Michelle, Brian Worley and his wife, Everita, Steve Worley and his wife, Alice, and Daniel Worley; 13 great-grandchildren, Kristin and Jenna Rose, Amber Hannah, Josh and Luke Early, Mandy and Misty Wright, Levi Warren, Sarah and Zach Worley, Cody and Savannah Worley, Maddox Worley; and six great-great-grandchildren, Billy and Heath Hannah, Ethan and Emily Early, Hannah and Trevor Wright. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Long Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Scott and Reverend Martin Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Long Branch Baptist Church
