Theodore Anthony Thomas

Theodore Anthony Thomas, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Asheville, North Carolina. He was born on March 6, 1927, in Darien, New York. Theodore served in the Navy and dedicated his life to protecting and serving his community.

Theodore's career with the Erie County Sheriff's Office, Under Water Division, spanned many years, where he displayed unwavering courage and commitment to upholding the law. His selfless service earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he served. Also, a church member, choir trustee, Deacon, and a Sunday school teacher at Cheektowaga Baptist Church. A member of the Masonic Lodge #1132 AF and AM Kenmore, NY and the Royal Arch #235, Buffalo, NY.

Theodore is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Farless Thomas for an incredible 73 years. Their bond was a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Together they created a beautiful family.

He is also survived by his daughter Kathryn Hill (Robert) of Davenport, FL; and son Timothy Thomas (Alice) of Asheville. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and two beloved great-grandchildren. Theodore had a profound impact on each member of his family, instilling in them values of integrity, compassion, and dedication.

In addition to his immediate family, Theodore will be deeply missed by his surviving friends and extended family members who were fortunate enough to know him throughout the years.

Funeral Services will be held in the Wells Chapel of Faith of Candler at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 with the Reverend Mike Hicks officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. 

Theodore Anthony Thomas will always be remembered for his unwavering dedication to duty, his love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
