Theresa O'Neil

"1956 – 2015" Canton – Theresa Lott O'Neil, age 58, passed away June 26, 2015 at her residence. A native of Chatham County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Grady and Jennie Lee Webb Lott and two brothers, Dennis and Jimmy Lott. Theresa was a special lady who lived life to the fullest and will be remembered as a true "people – person." She adored all her family and friends and loved each of them deeply. Theresa held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her basset hound, "Brutus." At church, she was known as the "candy lady" for the many times she handed out candy. One of her favorite times of the week was attending her Sunday school class at East Fork Baptist Church where she was a member. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, David O'Neil; one son, Richard Shane NeSmith of Asheville; one step-daughter, Tonya O'Neil Finney and her husband, Steven, of Raleigh; and one step-son, Bryan O'Neil and his wife, Jessie, of Canton; three grandchildren, Crissy and Kayla O'Neil and Colin Finney; a niece, Tracy Lott; and a great-niece, Beth Lott. At Theresa's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Fork Baptist Church, 13175 Cruso Road, Canton, NC 28716.
