Waynesville, Thomas Carlisle Angell, age 69, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and was the son of the late Dr. Carmine Thomas Angelone and Yolanda Nauglio Angelone. He was a graduate of Cranston East High School in Cranston, Rhode Island. He graduated from the University of Miami and also received a law degree from the New England School of Law in Boston. He practiced law in Providence, Rhode Island. Following retirement from his law practice, he moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where he continued to enjoy his love for boating. In 2000 he moved to Haywood County. Tom was a former Resort Manager at the Grove Park Inn and currently worked in the food service division at MedWest Haywood, where he was affectionately known as the "grill master." He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue Cashion Angell; one son, Thomas Carlisle Angell, II of Waynesville; a brother-in-law, John Thomas Cashion, of Kannapolis. A memorial gathering and time of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska with Pastor David Merrell officiating.
