"Loving Husband"

Maggie Valley, Thomas Richard Beyer, 73, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville.

Thomas was a native of Rapides Parrish, Louisiana and had resided in Haywood County for the past 12 years. He was the son of the late Vincent and Rosa Belle Woodruff Beyer. Thomas was a retired Master Sargent of the US Airforce, having served during the Vietnam Era and was a manager at Lowe's.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Dawson Beyer; two brothers, Gary Beyer (Phyllis) and Jerry Beyer (Patricia), all of Danville, Virginia; a nephew, Ellliot Beyer and three nieces, Allison, Madaline and Laura.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Father Richard Benonis officiating. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
