Thomas Dumã©Ny

Canton, Thomas Arnold "Tom" Dumény, Sr., age 55, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville. A native of North Raymond, Maine, he was the son of the late George Palmer and Elisabeth Mae Burnham Dumény. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Felicia Marie Dumény and a son, Joseph Matthew Dumény. He was a US Navy veteran and an employee of Blue Ridge Glass for the past four years. Tom was a friendly, hard-working man known affectionately as "Chief" by his fellow employees. He was a dedicated husband and a proud father with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed watching Nascar, especially Jeff Gordon, and was a fan of the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rose Bridges Dumény; one son, Thomas A. Dumény, Jr. of San Diego, California; and a sister, Becky Powell and her husband, Steve, of Jackson, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the State Veterans Cemetery at Black Mountain. Burial will follow with military graveside rites performed by the Buncombe County Veterans Council.
