Thomas Green

Waynesville, Thomas Berlion Green, age 75, of Fairway Hills Drive went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Leonard and Georgia Allison Green and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Robbie Smith and Beverly Kates and one brother, Burton Green. Berlion was a US Army veteran and was later employed at Champion International for 40 years. He was was a member and Elder of Waynesville Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed reading and teaching the Bible. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling. Berlion is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Clark Green; two daughters, Lisa Deane and husband, Chris, of Greer, South Carolina and Lori Wiggins and her husband, Brian, of Canton; two sisters, Edith Grant and Margie Lowdermilk; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Smith, Carroll Kates, Charles Clark (Reba); sister-in-law, Susie Wells (Worth); grandchildren, Jordan and Emylie Deane; several nieces and nephews; and family friends, Diane Livingston, Rebecca Edwards, and Donna Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Waynesville Christian Fellowship Church with Dwayne Shelton, Ron Donaldson, Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend Kent Lowdermilk officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Moody, Oscar McCarter, Bud Kirkpatrick, David Henson, Ernest Presnell, Clint Mull, Johnny Allen and Ron Rogers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
