Thomas Hall, Sr.

Thomas Green Hall, Sr., age 90, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Marlin and Annie Mae Franklin Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevie McCreary Hall who died in 2009. He was the oldest living member of Morning Star United Methodist Church. Tom was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Champion International in 1987. Tom is survived by two sons, Thomas Hall, Jr. and his wife, Mary, and Robert Hall and his wife, Dennissa, all of Canton; two daughters, Annetta Andrews and her husband, Andy, of Rougemont, NC, and Patricia Chastain and her husband, David, of Canton; one sister, Girtrue Talley and her husband, Ray, of Etowah; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Morning Star United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nicole Jones and Reverend Ray Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
