Thomas Mann

Thomas "Tom" Worrick Mann, age 95, peacefully passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Jodie B. and Daisy Robinson Mann. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edith Clark Mann, who died in 2001; two sisters Louise Jones, Mary Jo Hipps and a brother, Fred Mann all of Canton. He was a lifelong farmer who grew tobacco and a longtime producer of beef cattle. He loved his family very much and he will be missed by them. He was a former member of Plains United Methodist Church. He is survived by three sons, Gary Mann and his wife, Terri of Palatine, IL, Bob Mann and his wife, Kay of Lake Norman and Troy Mann and his wife, Nancy of Canton; three sisters, Maxine Kinsland and her husband, Carroll of Canton, Hazel Holland of Canton and Betty Joy of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter, Heather Mann of Charlotte; six grandsons, Randall Mann and his wife, Dana of Raleigh, Tim Mann and his wife, Lisa of Houston, TX,, Tommy Mann and his wife, Polina of Charlotte, Russell Mann and his wife, Hillary of Chicago, III, Brian Mann and his wife, Lauren of Champaign, IL and John Mann of Palatine, IL; three great- grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and a special nephew, Home Clark and his wife, Violet. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Cecil Fox and Reverend Larry Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at 24 Rhoda Street. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
