Thomas Saunders

Waynesville-Thomas Jack Saunders, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at his residence. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Gilberta Bryson. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam Era and retired after 21 years as a Master Sergeant. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. He is survived by a son, Richard, of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Joyce Cabe and her husband, Larry, of Waynesville and Louise Green and her husband, Jim, of Sylva; and one brother, Frank E. Saunders, and his wife, Karen, of Waynesville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Greenhill Cemetery with Reverend David Williams officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Shaw Air Force Base honor guard. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
