Thomas Trull, Sr.

Canton-Thomas Gordon Trull, Sr., age 97, of 42 Birch Street, died Friday, November 26, 2004 at Silver Bluff Village. He was a native of Buncombe County and lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Thomas Robert and Beulah Morgan Trull and was the husband of the late Lucille Reed Trull who died in 1993. He was also preceded in death by one son and his wife T. G. "Buster" Trull and his wife Jean Sales Trull and one son-in-law Ray Morgan and 2 grandchildren, Kay and Timothy Trull and one great-great-granddaughter Shayla Nicole Garland. He retired from Champion International with 44 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. He was a faithful member of the Canton Senior Citizen Center and the oldest member of the Snug Harbor and Champion Old Timers. He was an avid Pisgah High School football fan and a team member of the Champion Fast Pitch Softball. He is survived by two daughters, Joan Trull Rymer of Canton and Janette Trull Morgan of Decatur, AL, a very special friend Mae Stepp of Canton, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Reverend W. O. Henson and Reverend Jack Sammons will officiate. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at 24-A Heather Way, Candler, NC 28715. Memorials may be made to the Canton Senior Citizen Center in Canton.
