Waynesville, Timothy Paul Harlan, age 52, of Clayton Lake Road, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his residence. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, he was a prior resident of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and moved to Haywood County in 2000. He was the son of Joyce Cottrell Wolfe and the late Paul Ronald Harlan. Tim was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and served in the Peace Corps for two years. He later worked for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for 18 years. Tim was a soil scientist and a partner in Mountain Soil, Inc. and a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. Tim is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Howard Wolfe; a daughter, Kacey Alexandra Harlan and her mother, Anna Harlan; a daughter and son, Morgan Elane and Zackary Paul Harlan and their mother, Catherine Harlan; and two brothers, James Glen Harlan and his wife, Jill, of South Charleston, West Virginia and Mark Cecil Harlan and his wife, Katherine, of Miami, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Long's Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Charles W. Wilson, II and Reverend Leyton Alan Mears officiating. The family will receive friends 45 minutes prior to service in the venue. Memorials may be made in Tim's honor to Long's Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
